Chili Night and UM-Flint Physicist Dr. Rajib Ganguly-How Many Wa

February 15, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Dr. Rajib Ganguly-How Many Ways Can A Black Hole Kill You? Black holes lurk in the vastness of space. But unlike their Hollywood depictions, black holes don’t go around devouring everything in sight. Nevertheless, they are still dangerous creatures, and best studied from afar. Join Professor Rajib Ganguly, Associate Chair of Physics and resident astronomer at the University of Michigan-Flint, as he ponders the many ways an encounter with a black hole could lead to an untimely demise.

Also, our annual Chili Night event is here again at the nature center. Prepare your best chili and come on out for an enjoyable evening of tasting many different kinds of chili. Bring your chili, place settings, and drinks, plus a dish/desert to pass. If you are not “accomplished in the kitchen”, don’t worry about not bringing chili – there will be plenty on hand. Also, we will be holding our annual fundraising raffle of various astronomy related items.
We plan on telescope observing afterwards, weather permitting. This event is free and open to the public. You don’t need to be a member to attend.
