Tour of the Solar System with SpaceEngine – Bob Trembley

September 25, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

SpaceEngine is an amazing 3D simulator app for Windows that allows you to fly practically anywhere in the universe! You can fly through Saturn’s rings, land on the Moon – at the Apollo landing sites, or completely break the laws of physics and fly faster than the speed of light to the black hole at the center of our galaxy – and live to tell the tale!

Bob Trembley gives a tour of our solar system with SpaceEngine, showing you the wonders – and in some cases bizarre features, of some objects in the Sun’s planetary system. SpaceEngine uses beautiful high-rez imagery from NASA missions when rendering solar system bodies.

Bob is the 2020 outreach officer of the Warren Astronomical Society, a volunteer NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, blogger and factotum for the Vatican Observatory Foundation. Bob is fantastically interested in asteroids and near-Earth objects (NEOs), and a HUGE fan of space simulation apps; he is determined to improve the teaching of astronomy and Space History throughout Michigan, and the U.S.
